SPARC CREATIVE EXPERIENCE

ECLECTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL & ART WALK

OUR first REALLY BIG event - We participated in the Eclectic Music Festival and Art Walk on Saturday, May 1st. Our “ARTS EXPERIENCE” took place from 5-9pm on Meridian Street near the Meridian Iron Works Museum with a line up of GIANT Painting EASELS. We created an interactive visual arts project with painting panels that lined the street. Participants were encouraged to paint the panels along with professional artists. Viewers and passers by were able to walk under and through the giant easels.


The SPARC Temporary Contemporary Gallery, at 909 El Centro St.,

is a must see destination and will be open temporarily from May until the end of June. This newly built commercial space will debut as an art gallery featuring the works of local artists Liz Reday and Catherine Ellen Money, Victoria Arriola, Kirk Miller, Nathan Rohlander, Amy Runyen, Alice Simpson, Marie Switzer, Susan Singer, Connie Rohman and many others. The Art Experience by SPARC

returned to South Pasadena for Art Walk 2010! And the California Art Club special exhibition at SoPas Gallery presented the pieces created in this year's Plein Air Paint-out which included other galleries, merchant open-houses, live music, food beer and wine.

for Eclectic Music Festival & Art Walk

On May 7th, The South Pasadena Arts Council (SPArC) joined forces with the Chamber of Commerce to present the annual Eclectic Music Festival and Art Walk. During the festival, SPArC invited the public to put on their creative hats to help create

a series of painted sculptures called "3-D Graffiti".

In concert with the South Pasadena Public Library, SPARC presented “Back to School” Labor Day 2011, Concert Celebration. The free concert featured Brasil Brazil an invigorating, magical experience comprised of internationally renowned performers.
